Welcome to Venus in Wanderland 2.0!
As we move through the energies of 2022, this blog will be centered around the major astrological energies influencing us, with a particular emphasis on the planet of love, beauty, and romance: Venus.
With each new post released every other Friday, the day of the week correlated to Venus, the focus will be on the upcoming energies for the next two weeks, including major celestial movements.
We have speedily made it halfway through the first month of 2022. And we have certainly hit the ground running!
Prepare yourself for even more significant shifts and rebirths happening in this year full of potential to expand into your juiciest expression of magic.
So, without further ado…
What does 2022 have in store for you?
As I sit here dropping into these energies, Botticelli's "Birth of Venus" comes to mind. The Goddess of Love, standing in her naked glory atop a clam shell, as the pearl of life that she is. Enriched with confidence and standing in somber contemplation, Venus awaits to receive what's to come, knowing, trusting, that what she receives is meant for her.
When the waters get turbulent this year, I invite you to turn to this image for inspiration on how to navigate the mysticism that awaits you. It might not be easy, but it will be simple.
The key this year will be to remain aligned to the Taurean virtues of simplicity (Venus rules over the signs of both Taurus and Libra).
Connecting to the simplicity of your pleasure centers, what makes you feel good, is how you win. And pleasure can be found both outside and inside your body, but the emphasis is more so on the carnal embodied pleasures that Taurus energy brings us.
We began the year with significant astrological shifts and movements, the influences of which we have already felt: a renewing New Moon in Capricorn, a powerful Pluto-Venus conjunction transforming our relationships to everything, and a mystically expansive Jupiter moving into its home sign of Pisces.
Let's begin with this new moon energy:
New Moons begin new cycles. It's a time to plant the seeds of what you wish to see grow in your life. With our current Capricornian lunar cycle having happened on the second day of the year, it also marked the energy of what the rest of the year can look like and of the fruits that can blossom.
In the sign of Capricorn, which is all about accessing discipline and rigor to climb the mountain top of your goals and dreams, this season of new year’s resolutions was jam-packed with the energetic availability of putting your goals into action as long as you have a solid game-plan.
But if you don't have that game plan set yet, don't worry! The entire month of January is a reflective period for you to figure out what that plan is for you exactly.
Now moving on to the real reason we're all here: Venus.
Venus has been in its retrograde phase (which happens every 18 months) since December 19, 2021. When a planet goes retrograde, it's primary function takes an introspective turn, thwarting its ability to effectively function and perform its duties.
What this means for Venus, whose function is the evocation of beauty, the invocation of love, the harmonizing of relationships, and the embodiment of pleasure, is that she takes a hard look at all the situations (people, places, things) that are NOT fulfilling her needs.
So as Venus does her inward dance, so do we, going through a deep initiation into the areas of our lives where we have given more than we have received, where we have undervalued ourselves, and where our centers of joy have been seemingly taken from us.
Venus wants us to be honest with ourselves and look at what the missing foundational pieces to the puzzle of our relationships are. The relationships that used to feel stable and secure, no longer do and they need a new foundation.
Our personal relationships have taken the biggest hit of them all. Whether you are partnered up or single, all your relationships, including the one you have with yourself, have been under a microscope. Capricorn energy can be ruthless. Thus, we find ourselves being just as strict with our standards. We can no longer tolerate people in our lives who take us for granted, who treat us in ways we don't deserve, who don't uphold the values that are important to us.
Relationships are meant to support us in our personal growth.
If they don't serve us or build us up, then they must shift, or else, go. We can no longer continue building on shaky relational grounds.
And so, the main takeaway? The need to release these relationships has been arising and will continue to arise as Venus completes her inward journey.
It's time to either grow together or grow apart. Situations will continue to come up in your relationships that will show you this until you make that shift.
What's also being put under a microscope is your own relationship to your body.
As the Creatrix of Pleasure in the sign that's more centered on career success, work, and hard effort than play, both of these energies feel at odds with each other, creating an internal dilemma: you want to be productive, but your body is asking for something else. For one reason or another, productivity, the way you've had it, just isn't coming through. And so, in order to navigate these energies successfully, you get to shift your focus on what you deem productive. It's about engaging productivity through activating your pleasure centers.
For example, a lot of us right now are being plagued with going through the pressure of succumbing to sickness and disease. So your goals and new year's resolutions had to be put on pause, causing a lot of internal frustration. Venus says, "Don't waste your energy being upset over what you can't change. If you can't work, or exercise, find something else you CAN do, that will fulfill you, that perhaps you've been putting off due to said pressure created from said work you think you should be doing."
You are in a time where you get to go back to build upon and focus on YOU.
Connect with your body. And what better way to do so than to connect (or reconnect) with your yoni?
Your yoni is the Venusian gateway to your womanhood, it IS your pleasure center, creation center, your Wanderland. If you've been meaning to go deeper with your practice of connecting to yourself or you've been planning on getting started, the Venus retrograde time period is the perfect opportunity to have that reset.
It is the time now to destroy an old pattern and rewrite a new story. Utilize the tools at your disposition, your yoni wands and yoni eggs as manifestation tools to envision the goal that you want to achieve this year. It doesn't matter that we're already two weeks in, the reset can happen now, if you so choose!

Connect with your toys, set your intentions on how you want to re-establish that connection to yourself through your body, and then have fun with it as you explore! Leave the judgments of what the "right or wrong" way to "do it" is behind (Capricorn always has "thoughts" on how things "should be done," ignore them!) and embrace YOUR way!
As we continue to move through the rest of the month, continue to pay attention to what unfolds in your life and your relationships. Venus goes back in its direct motion on January 29th, giving us the strength and receptivity to move forward with your goals. However…
We do have another planet going retrograde today. One you're likely more familiar with its retrograde motion than any other planet: Mercury.
Mercury often goes retrograde (about every 4 months). It's a period when your mental faculties take that introspective turn, so your ability to think sharply is diminished, affecting your ability to process thoughts and communicate effectively.
Mercury begins its backwards dance through the sign of Aquarius and then into Capricorn for the next three weeks. You might feel more disconnected from people than you normally do during this time. And your goals will take another revision process.
It's a time to slow down and bring more consciousness into your actions, especially how you use your words. Being that communication is quintessential in any effective relationship, Mercury retrograde can also take a toll on your relationships (as if Venus being retro wasn't enough!).
This month is basically about taking the time to slow down, reassess, reevaluate, and clean house. And because the energy of this month carries over into the energy of the year (as I mentioned in the beginning) , how you choose to navigate the rest of this trying month has the capacity to set you up for the success you so desire this year.
A bit of effort in consciousness will go a significantly long way…
This year holds the potential of your labor bearing ALL of your intended fruits. For this, we have Jupiter spending the entire year in its home sign of the romantic and mystical Pisces to thank for.
Pisces finds her two ruling planets: Jupiter and Neptune, comfortable in her home. This means that your ability to tap into the infinite resource of Goddess magic and consciousness is at your fingertips.
It's a Pisces-heavy year. Romance, magic, enjoyment, mysticism, deep soul connection, creativity, and physical death of the material are at an all-time high.
The cosmos has gifted us a magic wand to create at the will of our heart's desire.
